How Matching Works

SkillStamp matches verified talents to active jobs in two stages. First, a rule-based matcher compares every active job with every verified talent. Then AI helps rank the strongest candidates and explain each match. Our team reviews every AI shortlist before an employer sees it, and the employer makes the hiring decision.

Two-Stage Matching

Stage 1: Automatic matching

Runs as soon as a job goes live, is edited or resumes, right after a talent is verified, and again every night. A rule-based scoring step, with no generative AI, compares active jobs with verified talents across the factors listed below.

Stage 2: AI shortlist, reviewed by a person

For the strongest candidates from stage 1, AI compares each profile with the job and writes a short explanation. Our team reviews this shortlist before it's released to the employer. Employers see a match tier and the explanation, not a raw percentage.

We don't publish exact weights. Verified hard skills and work-style fit count most; experience, education and soft skills refine the match. Some things are requirements rather than factors: if the job's required languages, location, salary range or required education don't fit, there is no match.

Semantic Skill Matching

Related skill names are recognised, so 'PostgreSQL' and 'Postgres' still match. You won't miss a job because of a small difference in wording.

  • Complete all 5 verification steps: only verified talents are matched

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I see all jobs?

Yes. You can browse and apply to every open job. Matching is an extra: when you're verified, we also put you in front of employers whose jobs fit your profile.

How often are matches updated?

Right away when a job goes live or changes and when a talent is newly verified, and again every night for all active jobs.
